VPItransmissionMakerTM & VPIcomponentMakerTM Version 7.6
Version 7.6 provides improved usability, design process, and data analysis advances compared to the previous version. It offers means for tracking, visualizing and analyzing signal properties along the fiber link without the need to run long-lasting simulations. Properties such as signal, noise and distortion powers, GVD, DGD and nonlinear phase shift, OSNR, Q-factor and BER-limits can be evaluated versus geographical position, physical distance or frequency.
Additional new features in Version 7.6 are
- New MPSK en-/decoding, coherent detection, electronic phase estimation functions
- New Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) modeling functions
- New modeling functions for Refective SOAs in WDM systems applications
- Enhanced macro for accessing library of characteristics for various fiber types
- Parameterized definition of Interactive Simulation Controls using Tcl
- Entire schematic overview by means of the Pan & Zoom Window interface
- Enhancement to the Replacement Wizard for obsolete modules
The enhanced version of VPIphotonicsAnalyzer can be executed as stand-alone application now. The Advanced Iteration Selector control allows browsing the selected level of data variation and average, stitch and superimpose data from different iterations as specified by the Runs mode. Data file import and theme editor tools have been improved.
Demonstration applications have been modified and new ones added to illustrate the use of RSOAs in PON networks, ROADMs and EDFA transients, OFDM and multilevel modulation in high speed systems with coherent detection. There are over 550 demonstrations available in the products now.
